LED Strip Lighting on Awning _ KEDRON Top Ender

This photo shows the front awning arm with the led's attached and the stone guard installed covering the lower portion to prevent damage.

The lights work with the stone guard on or off due to the low heat emitted.
The primary connection is through an Andersen Plug(AP) I installed in the rear boot door adjacent to the  fridge outlet AP which we don't use. I also installed a RED LED between the mounting screws so I know at a glance when packing up if I forgot to unplug the internal AP which is shown below.

Lights working with the stone guard removed, I have turned off the shed lights in one of the photo's and flash on the camera but you can see that the lights are flush mounting between the ribs on the awning arms. The removable  wiring loom is twin sheathed wiring and each circuit (F&R) is fuse protected. The connection at each awning arm is through a 2 pole waterproof polarity sensitive connection as the strip lighting LED's I purchased are polarity sensitive. The up side is I can make the light bars any length I wish just cut to length, solder on your wires and seal it up to make the connection waterproof.
Lights working with the flash turned off on the camera. The rear lights are identical. You need to make allowance in your loom length to allow for when the awning is extended or retracted that is why I decided to have a completely removable loom which rolls up on a small reel.
I have also installed strip lighting inside the middle outside light to replace the fluro that was installed.

I can't stress enough that you need to ensure when you have external AP's or any wiring circuit that they are fuse protected (with the right size fuse) so that someone doesn't come along and short them out or normal vibration causing chaffing of the wires which in turn can cause a short circuit of your wiring and set fire to your van.

If you have never seen it happen, it takes about 1 - 2 seconds before you have melted bare wires putting out immense heat and the insulation is usually burning within 3-4 seconds if your lucky. NOT vey much reaction time to find a set of wire cutters or fire extinguisher.

Well I have removed the strip lighting as it didn't really achieve what I had desired.
If you look at the square external lights I have just removed the three of these and installed 27w LED flood lights.
